What is the Total Number of Golf Courses in the Villages?

There are a total of fifty-six (56) golf courses in The Villages. Options include chip and putt, nine-hole, and eighteen-hole courses. Executive courses, mostly nine holes, are almost all primarily par 3’s and short par 4’s. There are a total of forty-four (44) Executive courses.

Championship courses are full-length eighteen-hole rounds that can challenge the most formidable players.

Some of the Championship courses are designed with 27 holes and there are a total of twelve (12) Championship courses.

How Many Executive Golf Courses are in the Villages?

The Villages in Florida boasts an impressive forty-four (44) golf course that is spread throughout its vast properties. These courses are open every single day. Many of the properties are grouped in clusters of three unique and independent courses for a total of twenty-seven holes.

Routine maintenance schedules ensure that the golf courses are in as good shape as possible and ensures their condition all year long.

Silver Lake Executive Golf Course, the first Executive course opened in 1987.

A new golf course has opened almost every single year since then. Two new golf courses opened in 2019, Belmont Executive Golf Course and Churchill Greens Executive Course.

The most recent executive golf course added to The Village’s portfolio is called Lowland Executive Golf Course.

It is a Par 29 course that ranges from 1075 to 1600 yards (depending on tee box selection).

It is billed as one of their most picturesque new courses due to its location along the Hogeye Preserve, a historic natural Florida water basin that connects with Fenney Spring.

Another recent opening at The Villages is their new ‘pitch and putt’ course.

Marsh View Pitch & Putt is designed for first-time golfers. The longest hole is over 100 yards and the shortest is only 40 yards.

How Much Does It Cost to Golf in The Villages Florida?

Executive golf courses are free to play for the resident members of The Villages in Florida. Championship course fees range from $12-$34 for Priority Members and $15-$45 for Resident Members. Those price ranges vary heavily depending on when you want to play during the day.

Non-residents can expect to pay a higher premium than The Villages residents or guests of residents.

The course fees range from $20-$57 and those price ranges vary heavily depending on the time of day.

Executive course greens fees for guests and nonresidents range from $7-$11 depending on the time of year and a cart costs $4 per round.

Unlimited play is available at the 18-hole rate after the afternoon water-shed period.

This is a first come first serve system and can begin as early as 3PM (depending on the specific course). Golf cart rental is not unlimited, however, and will be charged according to holes played.

Early Bird tee times can be booked from 7 AM onwards on some of the courses, and this needs to be arranged by calling the Pro Shop.

The Villages offer a gracious rain check system. If inclement weather forces course closure, players will be granted a full round of 18 if the players group has not teed off on Hole 5. If you have already teed off past Hole 5, you automatically receive a 9 hole raincheck.

How Do I Book a Tee Time in the Villages?

A need for a more robust booking system became more and more important as new golf courses opened on The Villages properties.

Tee time reservations are allocated 3 days in advance. Priority for tee times is determined by how many “Placement points” you have, which can vary depending on what type of package deal that you have.

Can You Rent Golf Clubs in the Villages Florida?

All Championship standard golf courses at The Villages in Florida rent golf clubs and other equipment for around $15 per round. 

There are many retail shops that offer golf clubs for sale. There are many services that will provide high-quality golf club sets to players.

They work by delivering the golf club set of your choice to the location you want them.

Full golf club set rentals come along with complimentary towels and extras.

Most services also offer the option to rent individual clubs (a driver, for example, or just irons) and have them delivered the same way as a complete set of golf clubs.

These services do request that you call in advance (at a minimum two days) to ensure that they can ship you golf clubs to the right address the day before your rounds begin.

They make it easy to return the equipment when you are done with it. Simply place the label that they provided with your set of golf clubs onto the box that they were shipped in.

You then leave the entire package at your golf course pro shop or hotel front desk so that they can be placed in the mail cycle.

Can Non-Residents Golf At the Villages?
